The add-ons for Xbox Originals have been announced by the Microsoft and now, you finally can play the games at a different level. The games for which the add-ons have been announced are Guilty Gear XX #Reload and The legend of Spyro: A new beginning. They shall be made available on the 16th of June. Sharp online play and numerous tweaks over the original Guilty Gear XX have been added and also the anime-meets-heavy metal presentation.

Guilty Gear XX is a very hardcore game and only one in 100 would have the hand-eye coordination. For the rest of us who don’t have these super natural abilities, the razor sharp resolution and rock music references are enough to be hooked. The legend of Spyro: A new beginning which is the first entry in Sierra’s rebooted series has its update with The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and will be released this fall. Each title costs $15.

‘Music Monstars’ on Nintendo DS

Posted on Jun 12, 2008 03:38:36 PM

Cavale:

Whoever said music doesn’t matter when you play games on your computer/TV must have been a real bore. Gaming, as insiders would put it, is not only about action, graphics and technology behind it but also the music that comes along with the game. So, now you have the latest game, which is a music/rhythm title, developed by the Spanish software house Novarama. The game which is titled Music Monstars is going to be published by JoWood and has already made its way onto the Internet through Torrent sites and P2P networks.

Nintendo DS’ touch screen will play the song notes when you tap shrinking circles and it is also possible to change mid-song. The strange looking creatures that bop around the upper display are the eponymous ‘monstars’. Rumours contradict the claims made by the company, that it would only be released in Europe. A person probably from Novarama was heard saying that it would be released worldwide in September 2008. Until then, you can check out the cool video.

Another Fitness Title Coming - Uses Balance Board

Posted on Jun 12, 2008 10:10:45 AM

Man the fitness train is just chugging along for the Nintendo Wii and video games as a whole maybe, who knows at this point that sucker is just rumbling on by and I haven’t even bought my ticket for Wii Fit yet. There’s already a few games announced that will use the Balance Board to let you ski or skateboard or play minigames but Majesco says “choo choo” as they attempt to ride the train of healthy video gaming with “Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatium 2009″ coming this holidays. It’s going to feature the Balance Board and none other than Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser. No, Jillian Michaels isn’t that over the top Marine drill instructor that yells at fatso’s for not dropping a pound, he’s on the Celebrity Fit Club show. This is Jillian Michaels and the press release for her upcoming fitness title on the Wii is below it:

SAN DIEGO — Game publisher Majesco Entertainment has announced a partnership with celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels for an exercise-themed video game for the Nintendo Wii.

“Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009,” slated for a holiday release, leverages the motion-based Wii system and Balance Board accessory to create a title that combines solid game play with a fitness regimen, advice and exercise techniques provided by Michaels, the strength trainer and life coach on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”

“I truly think this type of product will be instrumental in revolutionizing the fitness industry and will help combat the childhood obesity epidemic in this country,” Michaels said.

Thanks to the popularity of the Nintendo Wii and its emphasis on physically active game play — and last month’s successful release of the “Wii Fit” game and Balance Board accessory — exer-gaming is quickly emerging as a hot category.

Interactive Game Group brokered the deal for “Fitness Ultimatum 2009.”

Majesco CEO Jesse Sutton said the title is aimed squarely at the growing casual gaming audience, especially women. He said exer-gaming should create a growing opportunity for fitness celebrities, especially those who already have make their mark on TV and DVD.

“Exercise and entertainment have gone hand in hand over the past 20 years,” he said. “So we think bringing that to games is the next big step.”

Viva Pinata Coming to Wii?

Posted on Jun 12, 2008 10:02:48 AM

Could the XBOX 360 game about humping pinatas make an appearance on the Nintendo Wii? It’s already coming to the DS with Pocket Paradise so maybe it could slide on over to the Wii in some form? Spong has an interview up with a couple of guys from the Rare side of things and they had a rumor enticing answer to the question as to whether the game may be coming to the Wii system:

SPOnG: I assumed that… So, we’ll never be seeing Viva Piñata on the Wii then?

Gary Richards: (Grins). I’m not saying.

I’m honestly surprised to see Viva Pinata on the DS with Rare being a Microsoft controlled dev house but who knows, they do like money after all!

Limbo of the Lost ripping Oblivion off?

With the recent unveiling over Limbo of the Lost, many companies are taking a closer look at this game. Games including Thief, Diablo 2, and Oblivion all look like their material is being used in this game. Bethesda is looking over the game and later this week, we will probably know about their legal stance on the matter. Analyzing the image, you will find that there are a lot of similarities. The rug, the railing, the stairwell, the paintings, the chair, the fire, and overhanging light. When you look at these two pictures side to side these differences seem more than coincidental. The only real difference is the texture which is of worse quality in Limbo of the Lost. Of course Bethesda saw this and is investigating further.
