Guitar Hero fans are going to love this. Eric Ruckman has created the Guitar Hero hack, which features a more true to the series game play. He used a wireless PS2 Guitar Hero controller and cut a hole in it. After which, the insides were removed and inserted a DS in it which allows for awesome strumming. With an attached FM transmitter, one could play it on the home sound system. The transmitter is controlled from the controller’s start and select buttons. We must say, this looks really cool and you will have a damn good time playing this hack. Read the rest of this entry »

Nobody can get enough of Guitar Hero arcade title can they? So here we are, with yet another unofficial GH machine Guitar Freaks with a little different gameplay that GH and many rock ballads. The machine looks like it has needed a lot of time and energy to be constructed and artwork covers most of the cabinet. There is also a coin mech, which might suggest that it will end up underground. Musical games have always attracted gamers regardless of their interest in sports or blood & gore. The success of GH only proves the point and it would be great if we saw something new, like a completely new music based game title in the near future.

Japanese developer Yudo have launched a rather unoriginal rhythm game called Aero Guitar, which, as you probably would have guessed by now, is a cheap Wii-imitation of the hugely popular Guitar Hero and Rock Star games. The Yokohama-based company is set to launch the game on Wii enabling interested but lazy guitar enthusiasts to play guitars using their Wii remotes, which is actually quite puzzling since I had always thought the best part abut playing a fake guitar was to be able to pretend to play an actual guitar! The game, which sells for 800 Wii Points ($8), will features tracks from major Japanese and international artists (Yawn!) with additional tracks up for grabs as downloadable content later on.

Yet another band for Guitar hero. Finally, another addition to the game so we can have some more music. In fact, why don’t you actually work on a system where the user can add their own music rather than wait a year and a half for you to spew out more music for us? As per Activision,
In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the fact that it isn’t fast enough, it’s the fact that they don’t come out with the stuff people want. What if I want Rammstein? What if I want some Fray? Maybe I want some Nine Inch Nails. I just think that they ought to focus their energies on allowing the user to do what they want with the game. In this way, the game will work for itself and Activision can go back into pouring money into my beloved Call Of Duty.

So is this a question that all you Guitar Hero fans on X-Box would like to answer? I suppose not. But the Cigar Box Guitar is really something cool and something that is a lot better than the one on X-Box. This is also regarding the fact that X-Box 360 is a lot less appealing that the Wii and it is losing out rapidly. If it really does not do something quick enough then it might end up again being at the back of the gaming console fights.
