With the recent unveiling over Limbo of the Lost, many companies are taking a closer look at this game. Games including Thief, Diablo 2, and Oblivion all look like their material is being used in this game. Bethesda is looking over the game and later this week, we will probably know about their legal stance on the matter. Analyzing the image, you will find that there are a lot of similarities. The rug, the railing, the stairwell, the paintings, the chair, the fire, and overhanging light. When you look at these two pictures side to side these differences seem more than coincidental. The only real difference is the texture which is of worse quality in Limbo of the Lost. Of course Bethesda saw this and is investigating further.

I, for one, am a big fan of Oblivion and I think it is a tradegy that someone would actually think to rip off a game like Limbo did. They took environments from Thief, Diablo 2, and Oblivion and justice will be done. I think that Bethesda will sue and make sure the game never hits the shelves and I don’t really think it was going to be that good of a game anyway, since it ripped off all the best games out there.

I have no idea how they thought of getting away with it. I’m a gamer that likes to look around and find easter eggs and I could notice something as massive as this in comparison to Oblivion. I think they are narrow minded and they just don’t care. Did they think we would look? Did they think we wouldn’t check? With the game looking so similar to others it seems almost copied.

With this happening to some of the major games on a massive scale, it makes one wonder whether there is actually a lot of this going on that normally we don’t notice. Nothing big, like this example, but some small things that would still be considered shameful. Do you have any other situations where one game has stolen from another?
