Musical-ecstasy:
Mobile gaming industry is supposed to touch $10 billion mark by 2009 and will be $16 billion market by 2012. Asia is considered as fastest growing Mobile gaming market. Even these stats can’t convince me that mobile gaming industry is at its best.
I believe that there is lot more potential in the market, but due to few factors, companies haven’t been able to utilize it to the fullest. One of them is difficulty in playing games on mobiles using navigation keypad and number keys and other is small 1-2” screens, which make playing games problematic.
Zeetoo has tried to solve one problem by creating Zeemote. Zeemote is just like Wii’s controller; only difference being Zeemote’s connecting to mobile phone using Bluetooth technology. Zeetoo’s Bluetooth game controller is supported by mobile phone giants Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG, and game developers Sega Mobile, Fishlabs and Reaxion. Zeetoo is also working on motion sensing version of Zeemote.
Surely, it is a great piece of technology for gaming enthusiasts. But, I’m afraid that game lovers will go for standalone gaming device than opting for a controller that controls low-end JAVA games on small-screened mobile phones. Though I’m not impressed a bit but you can see how it works in this video.
