Too Human

Meta-Review: Too Human

Silicon Knight’s Norse Mythology come Science Fiction dungeon crawling RPG action game has been the subject of much controversy over its nine year conception. Now the game is finally here, what have our fellow game critics been saying?

1up.com: C- from Giancarlo Varanini

The game is simply schizophrenic; it attempts to be all things to all people and never succeeds in executing any of them well. The end result is in dire need of polish and focus, and that doesn’t solely apply to gameplay mechanics. There’s absolutely no reason why a game released in 2008 should have a bug where characters can fall through solid ground and into some pseudo abyss.

Videogamer.com: 7/10 from Wesley Yin-Poole

Ultimately it’s a game that has failed to deliver on its promise or reach its potential, but it does plenty of things right, there isn’t anything like it on the 360 and it retains a certain addictive quality we rarely experience.

GiantBomb.com: 3/5 from Jeff Gerstmann

In short, large parts of Too Human feel like they were designed to the standards of the last generation of consoles, not this one.

Eurogamer.net: 6/10 from Dan Whitehead

A more cohesive game, with an engaging story, might be able to overcome some of its many flaws. But this game, with this story, and this many problems, is always going to be on shaky ground.

A new video has been published showing the “building stage” of the upcoming title Lock’s Quest. The game is simple, you are thrust into the role of an Archineer (architect and engineer) called Lock. Your job is to protect “Source Artifacts” from the evil Lord Agony. To do this, you are required to build a fortress-type structure to house these valuables. You also have to use strategy and careful planning to ensure the fortress is protected since Lord Agony’s army will constantly try to break down your building walls.

You have a wide selection of building materials such as wood, metal and stone to build walls, defense towers and much more. There is also an arsenal of weapons such as glue cannons and quick sands traps, to help in slowing down and hindering your enemy attacks. There are also some puzzle-based missions to challenge some of the more advanced players. Read the rest of this entry »
