Gaming began with primarily being played on personal. From primitive games like Pacman and Card games to classics like WarCraft series, Diablo series, Tom Clancy, Painkiller to modern day hits like World Of Warcraft, Hellgate London and Dirt, PC never had much trouble in winning a gamers heart. However, the same can’t be said in today’s times since the computer has some heavy competitors like Nintendo’s Wii, XBox 360. Gamecube and Playstation 3. These consoles are themselves too good to resist and along with these factors are the astounding games being made exclusively for consoles only. That stated, the computer still offers many games to be played on it along with few games which can work on both computer’s as well as on Consoles eg. Final Fantasy XI.
Coming to the important part, there are some huge differences between gaming on a PC and gaming on console systems. Some factors that a gamer should consider if about to make a choice of a preferred gaming platform are:
1) A console is a one time investment, you can purchase it and immediately begin to game on nit without the fear of whether you’ve a correct processor, graphic card or a compatible GB RAM.
2) You need not worry about buying expensive graphic cards for playing latest games on a console, as i said, once purchased it can work any game made for it.
3) You can act all lazy and sit on a couch and game, since unlike a computer, you aren’t restricted to a single place while gaming.
4) It bears a good resemblance to the television video game joystick most people have played in their childhood, thus there is less confusion when a player wants to learn about the controls of the game.
5) Its far more cheaper if you compare it with the cost of buying a Gaming personal computer.

However, the points of worry are that even if one part of the console becomes non-functional, the entire console has to be replaced. Not to forget that each console gets their own working games developed, so you can’t grab on the games you like but which fall in other console category.
But we definitely cannot forget the variety of services and functions that a regular computer gives. Also, where every computer can have a standard Internet connection with tiny or no trouble, every console doesn’t have active Internet supporting features, for instance, a PlayStation has a modem inside it but Xbox doesn’t.
Bottom line, it depends on the taste and style of the gamer. Games made for personal computer and Consoles can in no way be compared, both are successful in giving hours of enjoyment. In the end, ‘a gamer’s destiny is decided by his gaming platform choices’.
